YLiDM - Taiwan: National Rover Conference

Jorge Salas Cuzquen • 11 March 2024

Since its establishment in 1995, the National Rover Conference has become an official event of The General Association of the Scouts of China (Taiwan). It is a platform for young people aged 17-26 to engage in decision-making at the national level. NRC is a five-day event, including keynote speeches from external experts, panel discussions with NSO leadership, topic discussions, sharing sessions, workshops, adoption of NRC resolutions, election of NRC leadership, and social events. The NRC follows the Rules of Procedure adopted by the delegates presented on the first day, aiming to familiarize young people with the democratic decision-making model and the procedure of meetings. NRC resolution will be delivered by the Steering Committee with support from the relevant leadership of the NSO. It is an event led by youth for the youth, supported by the adults in the organisation. NRC has jointly benefitted the growth of the young people and the NSO by empowering generations of leadership in the organisation.
