World Scouting Grants is a funding mechanism that combines resources from the World Scout Foundation and other partners to support National Scout Organizations (NSOs) in implementing impactful projects. These grants enable NSOs to strengthen their capacity, engage their communities, and address global issues affecting young people — amplifying the impact of Scouting worldwide.

World Scouting Grants operates through multiple funding streams, each with explicit earmarks and requirements. The World Scout Bureau ensures a standardised, transparent, and efficient grant management process while maintaining the flexibility needed to align with donor priorities. This is supported by Fluxx, a centralised online grant management system used to submit, track, and manage applications.

Projects funded through World Scouting Grants contribute to a broad range of thematic areas, including:

🛟 Emergency funding for humanitarian responses 

• Relief and recovery efforts following natural disasters
• Support for displaced persons, refugees, and communities affected by conflict

The Messengers of Peace initiative supports NSOs and National Scout Associations (NSAs) in delivering projects that inspire young people as champions of peace, strengthen organisational capacity, and implement impactful community actions. Funded with the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Messengers of Peace projects aim to empower Scouts to take action as active citizens in peace and sustainable development at local, national, and regional levels.

Who can apply:

NSOs and NSAs that are in good standing with World Scouting.

Funding and budget amount:

• Grant size: USD 10,000 - USD 25,000 per project.
• Funding areas (see above for more details):
  • Youth-led community development projects, such as youth programmes, educational initiatives, and community actions.
  • Strengthening NSO capacity, such as good governance, GSAT, growth, Youth Programme, and volunteering.

How to apply:

Applications must be submitted through Fluxx. Only one application can be submitted per NSO/NSA. NSOs/NSAs are encouraged to clearly connect their proposals to at least one MoP objective:

• Inspiring young people as Messengers of Peace - To promote the values of peace, coexistence, and community service.
• Strengthening capacity - To ensure continuous quality and relevant Scouting.
• National and local community actions - To enable young people to make a contribution to the SDGs.

Deadline:

• Application deadline: 1 December 2025
• Funding distribution: Starting in the first quarter of 2026
• Implementation period: 1 February – 31 December 2026

Process:

1. NSOs/NSAs submit project applications via Fluxx.
2. The Regional Decision Committee, together with the WSB’s Grant Management Team, will review all submissions for compliance and alignment with MoP objectives. Projects will be evaluated against defined criteria and scored on a 0–10 scale. A minimum of 50 points is required for consideration, with higher-scoring proposals prioritised for support. 3. Approved projects will receive confirmation and guidance on grant disbursement, reporting, and monitoring.

Branding and communications:

• All funded projects must acknowledge the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• The Kingdom’s name and logo must be included in project materials, communication assets, and reports.
• NSOs should outline their communication strategy within the application, ensuring alignment with donor requirements. This may include articles, social media posts, videos, photos, and visibility materials shared through World Scouting’s communication channels.

The Big Six youth networks engage 250 million young people across 200+ countries, providing local support, advocacy, and capacity-building opportunities. Through "Network Solutions," national organisations can propose and implement projects addressing local challenges while contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Who can apply:

National Scout Organizations (NSOs) / National Scout Associations (NSAs) in ODA-eligible countries and EU-associated territories.

Funding and budget:

• Grant amount: USD5,000 – USD 30,000.
• Allocation: 70% for programme activities, 30% for support costs.

How to apply:

• Deadline: March 2025
• Process: Contact your Regional Support Centre to apply between January–March 2025. Approved projects must follow World Scouting Grants application process, reporting and evaluation standards.

Branding and communication:

Projects must follow branding guidelines recognising the Big Six and the European Commission.

Accenture and WOSM are partnering to equip young people with innovation, technology, and problem-solving skills for a sustainable future. As part of WOSM’s Scouts for SDGs LifeLeaders initiative, the Impact Innovators Challenge Badge will help youth in 12 countries use Design Thinking to address local SDG challenges.

The Scout Donation Platform (SDP) is a crowdfunding platform where anyone can donate to support Scouting projects worldwide.

Who can apply?

• Individual Scouts & Local Scout Groups (WOSM Members)
• National Scout Organizations (NSOs) / National Scout Associations (NSAs)
• Regional Offices

Instructions

1. Submit your project – The International Commissioner or SDP Coordinator reviews it for endorsement.
2. Project review – The SDP Global Team provides feedback to improve fundraising success.
3. Project publication – Approved projects are listed on donate.scout.org and promoted by the proponents, SDP team, and Regional Office.
4. Project completion – Submit a story with results at sdgs.scout.org.

Funding and budget:

• No funding limit (goal amount advised by SDP team).
• 100% of funds go to the project team.
• Important: If the goal isn’t reached, donations are returned—no partial funding.

How to apply: 

• Deadline: Applications are accepted anytime, but allow enough time for promotion to reach the goal before your project starts.
