GLB-C17-2025
Dear friends,
We are pleased to announce that the 5th World Scout Education Congress will be hosted by The Singapore Scout Association and held in Singapore from 1 to 4 December 2026.
Building on the successes of past Congresses held in Hong Kong (2013), Kandersteg (2017), Rio de Janeiro (2019), and Paris (2023), the 2026 Congress will offer a global platform for discussing education in Scouting, placing a particular focus on innovation, youth leadership, volunteering, diversity and inclusion, and safeguarding as key strategic priorities for the movement highlighted in our Strategy for Scouting.
The Congress will be relevant for National Scout Organization (NSO) leadership working on educational methods, Adults in Scouting, Safe from Harm, and national Youth Programmes. The event will also bring together partners, funders and organisations from the youth, education and international development sectors.
Singapore was selected as the host for the 2026 Congress following a competitive bidding and evaluation process managed by World Scouting’s events team and in accordance with the published Guidelines to Host the 5th World Scout Education Congress and the open call for bids issued in April 2025 (Circular GLB-C06-2025).
Singapore’s proposal showed strong alignment with the Congress concept, and the Nanyang Polytechnic post-secondary institution venue provides a modern and accessible educational setting well-suited for interactive and experiential learning. The event will also receive institutional support from the country’s Ministry of Education, the National Youth Council, and the Singapore Tourism Board.
We invite all Member Organisations to save the dates for the event and begin identifying national volunteers and staff with relevant backgrounds to attend the Congress. More details about the event programme, registration information and logistics will be shared in early 2026. We look forward to welcoming you to Singapore next year!
Yours in Scouting,
David Berg
