GLB-C10-2024

We are pleased to announce the opening of the new cycle for Member Organizations to submit annual reporting to WOSM. The constitutional membership requirements for annual reporting and Safe from Harm help to promote accountability, transparency, and a safer experience for all within Scouting.

Each Member Organization (i.e. National Scout Organizations, including Federations and each of their National Scout Associations) is requested to update or submit the following information via the WOSM Members Portal by 1 October 2024.

  • Contact information – Review and update the organisation details and appointees list.

  • Safe from Harm – Identify a Safe from Harm coordinator and upload the National Safe from Harm Policy and Safeguarding Reporting Procedure.

  • Census – Submit the membership statistics and estimated beneficiaries, as of 31 December 2023.

  • Reports – Upload the 2023 annual activities report and financial statement.

Safe from Harm Self-Assessment

Please note that in addition to the above annual reporting requirements, all Member Organizations are also required to submit a mandatory Safe from Harm Self-Assessment every two years (refer to Circular GLB-C16-2023 for details).

World Scouting Grants

Please remember that annual reporting is also a requirement when applying for World Scouting grants and Member Organizations must be fully compliant with the annual reporting cycle of at least the year proceeding a grant application. For an interim phase, Member Organizations applying for a grant that are not currently able to fulfil some or all of the Safe from Harm components of the annual reporting must either be already signed up or request a WOSM Service on Safe from Harm to show their active progress and commitment towards ensuring a safe environment for all.

The Scout Movement is committed to maintaining best practices in good governance and providing a safe Scouting experience for all. We look forward to seeing even more organisations demonstrate this commitment by meeting the requirements for WOSM membership. A higher rate of compliance with annual reporting across all Member Organizations will also allow WOSM to provide tailored support to its members and have a clearer picture of Scouting around the world.

You can visit support.scout.org for guidance on the annual reporting process and to meet your WOSM Members Portal support team. If you have any questions, please contact Riad Boudjerada, Senior Executive of Knowledge Management and Team Operations with the World Scout Bureau by email at [email protected].

Yours in Scouting,
