The World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU) welcomes you to Kenya for its 11th General Assembly - the first ever to be held in Africa!
🌐 About the WSPU
The World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU) is an independent association that brings together Scout-oriented parliamentarians from across the globe, fostering closer collaboration with the World Scout Movement. Established in 1991, WSPU holds Consultative Status with the World Scout Committee and has been working with World Scouting since its foundation.
The main purpose of the WSPU is to strengthen National Scout Organizations (NSOs) at the national level, and support World Scouting at the international level through parliamentary engagement. It also promotes the establishment of National Scout Parliamentary Associations (NSPAs) under the parliamentary framework, and grounded in the belief in the power of non-formal education and advocacy.
🗣️ WSPU 11th General Assembly
The General Assembly is normally held every three years, and the 11th edition will take place in Nairobi from 9 to 13 November 2025 under the theme of “Parliamentary Scouts in SDGs, Creative Economy and Climate Action”. This is the first to be held in Africa and a great opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the NSPAs in the Africa region.
At the General Assembly, parliamentarians and Scout leaders from around the world will gather to discuss the direction and development of the Scout Movement, youth policy cooperation, and expanded legislative support.
Ahead of the General Assembly, a Youth Assembly will be held in Nyeri from 6 to 9 November 2025, offering young leaders a dynamic platform to engage in dialogue, share ideas, and help shape the future direction of parliamentary support for Scouting. This gathering will empower youth participants to contribute meaningfully to the Assembly’s discussions and outcomes, and strengthen their role in global advocacy efforts.
