What's new?

Here are some exciting progress updates on key steps that will support the projects and areas of work where volunteers will contribute:

1️⃣ Standing Committees and Workstream Co-leads:

2️⃣ Project design and appointments:

  • After being selected, the Workstream Co-leads will focus on designing projects to implement the World Triennial Plan 2024-2027.
  • Volunteers like you may be appointed to a project team based on its needs.

3️⃣ New Task Forces:

  • Additional Task Forces may be formed after the World Scout Committee meeting in March 2025.

Other projects and appointments will start later in the triennium with scheduling spread out over time and to accommodate event-related workloads, such as Regional Conferences.

πŸ”… Volunteer placements depend on the needs of each project, and there may be instances where there are no available opportunities that align with your competencies or availability.

πŸ”… The volunteer pool will be the primary source for selecting volunteers in the 2024-2027 Triennium at World level, including for projects, event teams and other roles. 

πŸ”… We kindly ask for your patience as we work through this process and finalise appointments.

What to expect

Volunteers selected to join the volunteer pool can expect the following:

  • Induction: Receive a comprehensive induction to understand your role and responsibilities.
  • Project assignment: Be matched with projects that align with your skills and interests. The majority of these projects and work that we do takes place online and there is no guarantee of international travel as part of your role volunteering with World Scouting. 
  • Support: Ongoing support and guidance from the World Scout Bureau and project leaders as well as the wider team purple pool. 
  • Recognition: Acknowledgment of your contributions to the global Scouting community through .
    • Team Purple Pin: As a member of Team Purple, you will be awarded a unique pin identifying you as a vital part of the World Scouting team.
    • Celebration moments - Regular opportunities to connect and celebrate online with the rest of team purple.
