From 3 to 5 July 2026, 22 participants from five National Scout Organizations gathered at Campo Escuela San Jorge Muxbal in Guatemala to strengthen regional capacities around the Scouts for SDGs initiative with a focus on the HealthAllies Challenge. The workshop was supported by World Scout Bureau, Americas Support Centre, and brought together delegations from Guatemala as host country, Honduras, El Salvador, and Costa Rica.

The gathering reinforced that the Youth Programme is fundamental to the Scout Movement, and Scouts for SDGs, as one of its tools, inspires girls, boys, adolescents, and young people to become agents of change in their communities, ready for life.

Over three days, delegations reviewed their National Scout Organizations' development levels, identified opportunities for improvement in Youth Programme and Youth Participation, and exchanged good practices. The workshop also included the development of strategic project proposals designed for coordinated, measurable action aligned with regional priorities.

A cultural exchange evening between participating countries allowed delegations to share traditions and celebrate the fellowship that characterises the Scout Movement, reminding participants that shared work gains special meaning when grounded in the values that unite the Scout brotherhood.

Each participant returns home with innovative tools and renewed motivation. The knowledge built in Guatemala now travels to each represented National Scout Organization, multiplying its impact across thousands of young people in the region and strengthening a region that advances together towards sustainable development.
