The Temasek Foundation & Friends Meetup brought together over 50 participants in Jakarta for a day of meaningful connections. Alumni, partners, and long-time friends of the Foundation joined the event, showing the strength and diversity of its regional network. Representatives of the World Organization of the Scout Movement included staff from the Asia-Pacific Support Centre and Scouts from Gerakan Pramuka.
A memorable moment was when Temasek Foundation’s CEO, Ng Boon Heong, was thrilled to see their logo on our Scout scarf, which was presented to him during the event. He proudly shared that he was once a Scout himself.
The meet-up provided a great opportunity to celebrate partnerships, share inspiring stories, and explore new ways to collaborate across Southeast Asia.
World Scouting and the Temasek Foundation have an existing partnership that aims to promote peace in Southeast Asia through the "Young Peace Builders" programme.
The initiative focuses on implementing the Dialogue for Peace programme to foster inter-religious and intercultural engagement within the Scout Movement. This includes capacity development to achieve awareness on Dialogue for Peace and conflict
resolution and roll out Dialogue for Peace program in their countries. This part requires the NSO to coordinate and deliver community-based initiatives in their countries to promote peace and harmony.
