Subject: Regional Diagnosis on the Road to the XI Interamerican Scout Summit

Dear Scout brothers and sisters:

We hope that this email finds you well, after a wonderful World Scout Conference in which we were very pleased to see you and celebrate our fellowship that transcends borders.

After the decisions taken this past week regarding the new Strategy for Scouting and therefore a new World Triennial Plan, which invite us to think about new challenges and a new vision of the future for our organisation, it is necessary to begin to move towards the regional planning process.

The next step is the XI Interamerican Scout Summit, which will take place next November and will have as its main purpose to make an evaluation of the current Regional Plan 2022-2025 in order to identify not only the progress but also the challenges that the National Scout Organizations are currently facing and, to identify the new objectives that address the diverse realities so that together we can mark the path that we will follow in the next three years in strengthening the NSOs by offering a quality Youth Programme that is relevant to today's society.

To achieve this during the Regional Summit, it is necessary to begin the 2024 Regional Diagnosis process, which will allow us to identify those elements and areas in which we must delve deeper and focus our efforts.

For this reason, we are inviting you to participate in one of the elements of the diagnosis, which is the GSAT 3.0 Regional Self-Assessment, in which we will use this tool as an important source of information on the realities of each NSO. The process will be open from August 26 to October 15, 2024 with the support  of the GSAT Regional Consultants and the professional Staff of the World Scout Bureau - Interamerica Support Centre.

Each NSO will receive a personalized link through the emails of its official contacts, which is not transferable, so that it can carry out its self-assessment of the ten dimensions that make up the GSAT in its version 3.0, on the digital platform created for this purpose.

Once you complete your self-assessment, you will receive an email informing you that your self-assessment report is available for download with which you can internally analyze your results. Subsequently, these results will be consolidated to obtain a collective vision that allows the regional analysis of each of the dimensions.

As support documents and so that NSOs can prepare your responses before uploading them to the digital platform, we share the GSAT Self-Assessment Guide and the GSAT Scoring Form that you can download and complete together with your national teams.

For NSOs that wish the support of a consultant, this service will be available to support the process, explain the methodology, support in the use of the platform and answer any questions that arise during the self-assessment. To request this support or to answer any questions about this process, you can contact Janet Márquez at [email protected]

We invite you to actively participate in this initiative, in addition to the other diagnostic processes that all NSOs are already carrying out, such as quality measurements by area, which will help us to know and understand more accurately the realities and needs of our region in order to structure a joint plan that will help us grow together and so that every day more children and young people are prepared for life.

Yours in Scouting,
