Quality Measurement Tools - Interamerican Region

Dear friends in Scouting, greetings from Panama.

As we have done since the last Triennium, we are pleased to inform you that we are beginning the Self-Assessment stagefor your NSOs. This stage will help us identify the areas and processes that have improved since the previous measurement and those in which we must take action for continuous improvement.

Following the strategic areas of the Regional Plan 2022-2025: “Reunite, recover, reconnect”, we are inviting all NSOs in the region to answer the quality measurement tools for:

We will be receiving results until September 8th, 2024.

To participate in the process, please consider the following items:
  1. We invite you to involve relevant stakeholders in the self-assessment process, including the members of your national governing body and executive team, directors of strategic areas, and other committees or teams, as appropriate to each instrument and measurement, to obtain a more objective result.
  2. The instrument can be reviewed and completed in one or several work sessions. The important thing is to take the time to present the evidence, understand each criteria, and thus offer an objective response.

It is important to note that this tool is not intended to be a scoring or comparison exercise between National Scout Organizations. On the contrary, we consider it a valuable resource for strengthening the capacities of your NSO; it will allow you to identify opportunities for improvement. Additionally, at a regional level, it is helpful to collect information from each area to identify progress and processes that require additional attention or support from us. The individual results of the NSOs will remain confidential and only be used to analyze the areas.

All of the above added to the fact that at a regional level, it allows us to accurately understand the needs of the NSOs, generate solutions that benefit the majority, and articulate plans to provide services better.

At a national level, these results will benefit your NSOs since the opportunities identified for improvement will enrich your action plans and strategic plans, focusing on the elements that are a priority for the area and identifying the issues that require support through the WOSM service model.
