GLB-C09-2026

Dear friends,

We are pleased to share that we are now inviting nominations for the Messengers of Peace Awards, World Scouting's global youth awards and leadership programme. The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of young people who are promoting peace and contributing to the sustainability of their communities.

Nominations are open for Scouts aged 16 to 26 who have taken meaningful action in one of the following four award categories:

  • Peace - building a culture of peace through dialogue and understanding, while promoting global citizenship and strong communities.
  • Environment and sustainability - addressing climate change and protecting nature.
  • Health and wellbeing - improving physical, mental, and social health.
  • Life skills - equipping young people with the knowledge and skills to grow and prepare for the future.

Awardees will be selected based on a range of criteria, including community impact, youth involvement in design and implementation of projects, innovation and creativity, scalability, and alignment with Scouting’s values and educational approaches. Selection will also ensure a balance of gender, geography, and thematic focus, reflecting the diversity of our global Movement.

Nominations must be submitted by 30 June 2026. Nominees will need the endorsement of their National Scout Organization (NSO) before the final selection is made in September. A selection committee will review applications and conduct interviews before final selections are announced.

Since 2010, the Messengers of Peace Awards have honoured exceptional Scouts and Scout groups from across the Movement who have led impactful service projects and embody the values of Scouting. The incredible impact of Messengers of Peace is made possible by generous funding from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the World Scout Foundation.

NSOs are encouraged to actively promote nominations for the awards within their networks and to support the endorsement and selection process. This will help ensure we receive a strong pool of high-quality applicants and that nominations align with the nomination criteria.
