Call for bids to host regional events

Dear friends in Scouting,

In accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Interamerican Scout Region, Article 8(a) and Article 12(j), the 29th Interamerican Scout Conference, to be held in Curaçao, will decide which Member Organizations (MOs) will host the following regional events:

  • 30th Interamerican Scout Conference (2028)
  • 18th Interamerican Scout Jamboree and 5th Interamerican Scout Camporee - JamCam (2029)
  • Interamerican Scout Moot

The following timeline has been established to guide and support MOs interested in hosting these events:

Next steps and key dates

  • 20 June – 15 July 2025: Upon request, the World Scout Bureau (WSB) will provide support and guidance to interested MO to enhance their understanding  of the requirements and risks of hosting a Regional Event and to prepare a preliminary plan.
  • 20 July 2025: Deadline to submit the intention through the corresponding form.
  • July 2025: WSB will prepare a report on the feasibility of the received proposals.
  • 6 August 2025: The Interamerican Scout Committee (ISC) will meet to review the preliminary plans. Proposals meeting the necessary requirements will be endorsed to proceed to the formal bidding phase.
  • 15 September 2025: Deadline for submission of final formal bids.
  • September 2025: WSB will circulate with all MOs the list of candidatures in a Conference Document for consideration of the 29th Interamerican Scout Conference.
  • October 2025: A webinar will be held for MOs to meet the final bidders and learn more about their proposals.

Submitting an intention to host by the initial deadline does not constitute a formal commitment to submit a final proposal. However, it will enable the WSB to provide guidance and support throughout the process.

MOs wishing to express their interest in hosting a Regional Event are kindly requested to complete the following online form no later than 20 July 2025 at 23:59 (GMT-5):

The final formal bids will be coordinated with the designated focal point at the WSB, who will maintain direct communication with all MOs that express their intention to be hosts of Regional Events.

All submissions will be reviewed by the ISC based on the criteria outlined in the official guidelines for each event, as well as on the institutional capacity of the proposing MO.

In alignment with the Interamerican Scout Committee’s Agreement 59/2019:

“It was adopted as the basic and fundamental requirement for taking decisions with regard to the candidatures of the NSOs to regional events, that the NSOs applicants are in the Global Support Cycle, using the GSAT”

Accordingly, the completion of or active participation in a GSAT assessment process will be considered a key element in the evaluation of each candidacy by the Interamerican Scout Committee.
