The Asia-Pacific Region successfully conducted the APR Workshop on the Ticket to Life Project from 15–16 June 2026 at Bangkok Scout Camp Pisonyabut, Thailand, bringing together more than 35 participants, facilitators, and staff committed to strengthening Scouting’s outreach to vulnerable children and young people.

The workshop convened National Coordinators and Unit Leaders from six National Scout Organizations currently implementing the Ticket to Life Project: Bhutan, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

As the region’s flagship initiative for reaching children and young people in difficult circumstances, the Ticket to Life Project uses the Scout Method to support personal development, social inclusion, and positive life opportunities.

The workshop, designed as a capacity-building and peer-learning platform, focused on strengthening participants’ knowledge and skills in project management, programme delivery, sustainability, safeguarding, and impact measurement.

Supported by the Asia-Pacific Diversity and Inclusion Sub-Committee through interactive discussions, participants explored practical approaches to enhance the quality and long-term impact of their national Ticket to Life programmes.

With Mr. Samuel Khoo, Asia-Pacific Diversity and Inclusion Sub-Committee Member, serving as a resource person, drawing on his extensive experience in community development and project implementation, provided valuable insights and guidance to help participants strengthen sustainability in their respective countries.

Held biennially, the APR Workshop on the Ticket to Life Project remains an important mechanism for supporting National Scout Organizations in expanding access to Scouting for children and young people facing adversity.

By promoting collaboration, sharing good practices, and strengthening local capacity, the workshop reaffirmed the Asia-Pacific Region’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and ensuring that more young people can benefit from the life-changing opportunities that Scouting provides.
