[Online Campfire] Youth-led Climate Action in Europe

Europe Support Centre

Climate change is one of the defining challenges of our generation. Across Europe, young people are not only experiencing its impacts, but are also taking action, developing solutions in their communities, and finding ways to make their voices heard.

In Scouting and Guiding, nature has always been at the heart of our activities, learning and adventures. This gives us a strong starting point to explore what climate action can look like in practice, from understanding climate change and its impacts to gaining practical tools, sharing experiences, developing local initiatives, and making our voices heard through advocacy at the national and European levels.

This session brings young people together to learn from each other, discover practical approaches, share ideas and experiences, and connect with others who are ready to turn their concerns into action.

A closer look at the programme

We’ll kick off with Sigurd Seindal Krabbe, Scout and Denmark’s Youth Delegate to the UN for Climate and Environment, who will share perspectives and concrete experiences of youth climate action and participation.

Then, choose the breakout session that interests you most:

▸ Sustainable Events

Practical ideas for making our events more sustainable.

▸ GLACC/YLACC

Explore climate education tools and opportunities for young people.

▸ Carbon Game

Learn and reflect on carbon emissions and climate choices.

▸ Youth Leadership

Discuss how young people can lead, participate and influence climate action.

And the programme doesn’t end there. Bring your own questions and ideas! You’ll also have the opportunity to suggest a topic and join an informal conversation with other Scouts and Guides who are interested in exploring it with you.

Who should attend?

This workshop is for Scouts and Guides involved in local groups, regional and national levels across Europe who want to turn their interest in climate action into practical ideas and initiatives.

Whether you’re already running a local climate project, looking for new ways to engage young people, exploring educational challenges and tools, or interested in strengthening youth voice in climate advocacy, you’ll find space to share your experience, learn from others, and take away ideas you can put into practice.

You don’t need to be a climate expert; just bring your experience, questions and ideas.
