Referendum on the Rules of Procedure for the 29th Interamerican Scout Conference Curaçao 2025
To ensure the effective handling of business, the Interamerican Scout Conference follows established Rules of Procedure, which determine the regulations governing the functioning of Regional Conferences, in accordance with Article 8(j) of the Regional Constitution.
The Proposed Rules of Procedure for the 29th Interamerican Scout Conference have been reviewed and endorsed by the Interamerican Scout Committee and are now available on the Regional Conference website for Member Organization review and approval, according to Article 7(g) of the Regional Constitution.
Following Articles 12(i) and 8(k) of the Regional Constitution, the Interamerican Scout Committee has proposed a Referendum for approval by the Interamerican Scout Conference. You can find Annex 1: Voting Rules and Annex 2: Ballot Form in this link. A vote shall be cast by emailing the completed ballot form signed by the Member Organization’s International Commissioner or Official Contact as indicated in the World Scouting Directory, to the World Scout Bureau – Interamerica Support Centre at [email protected] no later than 23:59 GMT-5 on Tuesday, 29 April 2025.
These updated Rules of Procedure build upon best practices from past Regional and World Conferences, introducing refinements and clarifications to existing processes to enhance efficiency and transparency. In response to previous Conference resolutions, new procedural measures have been introduced to strengthen youth involvement in Member Organization delegations and promote a more diverse and inclusive candidate pool for elections. Furthermore, improvements have been made to ensure the document is clearer and easier to navigate, allowing all participants to engage more effectively in discussions.
To provide additional insights into the key updates, a webinar will be held on Wednesday, 23 April 2025 at 19:00 (GMT-5), where Member Organizations will have the opportunity to learn more about the changes and ask any questions. We encourage the participation of Member Organization’s official contacts and potential delegates to the Regional Conference.
