Circular 05-IARConf-2025
Code of Conduct and Conference Officers Nominations
Dear friends in Scouting,
Code of Conduct
We are pleased to share Document 3: Code of Conduct, which outlines the principles and behavioral standards expected of all participants before, during, and after the Regional Conference.
This Code plays a key role in ensuring a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment, aligned with the core values of Scouting and supporting open, constructive collaboration among all involved.
We encourage all Member Organizations and delegates to review the document and embrace its spirit as part of their preparations. The Code of Conduct is available in the Documents section of the Regional Conference Website.
Call for Nominations to the Resolutions Committee, Credentials Committee, and Tellers
In accordance with Rule 5 of the Rules of Procedure, we invite Member Organizations to submit nominations for the following roles at the 29th Interamerican Scout Conference:
Credentials Committee
This Committee, composed of three members from different Member Organizations, is responsible for verifying the registration and accreditation of all participants. In collaboration with the Regional Office, it ensures proper representation, confirms voting rights, supports the resolution of any accreditation issues, and reports on quorum.
Resolutions Committee
The Resolutions Committee, composed of five members, four of whom must belong to different Member Organizations, supports Member Organizations and the Regional Committee in reviewing and processing draft resolutions, amendments, and emergency resolutions. It ensures compliance with procedural guidelines, provides technical and language support, and consolidates similar proposals. It also facilitates discussions during plenary sessions and prepares official documentation of resolutions.
Tellers
The Tellers, five people from different Member Organizations, are responsible for ensuring the integrity and transparency of the voting process, with support from the Regional Office. They supervise elections, count and verify votes, and report results to the Conference Steering Committee.
