Dear Colleagues,

Greetings from the APR Support Centre!

We are pleased to announce that the Asia-Pacific Region is organizing the Adults in Scouting Workshop. This workshop will support implementing World Policies, Programmes, initiatives, frameworks, and platforms. We will strengthen the World Adults in Scouting Policy and the WOSM Wood Badge Framework and review the management of adults in NSOs. Additionally, the workshop aims to support the World Scout Youth Programme Policy, World Scout Youth Involvement Policy, and World Safe from Harm Policy, recognizing their impact on the Adults in Scouting Policy.

The workshop targets Key Commissioners, Volunteers of any level in the NSO, or full-time executives responsible for Youth Programme, Adults in Scouting, and Safe from Harm or Child Protection.

We also encourage young adults – at least 18 years old on the date of the workshop – committed to contributing to Scouting development within their NSOs.

Our goal is to improve the effectiveness of Adults in Scouting in National Scout Organizations (NSOs) and we have identified the following learning objectives of the workshop:

  • Develop cohesive and comprehensive learning opportunities for young people by aligning youth programme, safeguarding in Scouting, and volunteer development initiatives.
  • Reinforce sustainable growth and improve leadership quality in NSOs by expanding Scouting to new areas and strengthening Youth Leadership effectiveness and efficiency, supported by adults.
  • Discover best practices and ideas from other NSOs on digital engagement and diversity and inclusion related to the Life Cycle of Adults in Scouting.

Please refer to the attached information for more details about this workshop. We would greatly appreciate receiving your reply slip no later than 30 September 2024.

Thank you for your usual cooperation and continued support in fostering an inclusive and diverse Scouting community.

With best Scouting wishes,

J. Rizal C. Pangilinan
Regional Director
