Dear friends in Scouting,
As part of the International Year of Volunteering for Sustainable Development, declared by the United Nations General Assembly, we consulted with National Scout Organizations (NSOs) several months ago about how to mark this year and recognize the thousands of Scout volunteers. The response was clear. NSOs want to demonstrate impact and prefer a decentralized model, where each country carries out actions adapted to its context under a common regional voice and framework.
Based on these findings, the Interamerican Scout Region proposes Voices of Volunteering campaign. It directly responds to this mandate and to the volunteering KPI in the Regional Triennial Plan. The campaign launches in August and consists of several complementary initiatives. Some require direct action from NSOs, while others are led by the Region.
To present the campaign, determine the events each NSO can deliver in its country, define the support required from the Region, and confirm which NSOs will join, we invite you to our coordination meeting:
- Wednesday, 29 July 2026, 15:00 Panama time, English session
- Wednesday, 29 July 2026, 16:30 Panama time, Spanish session
To ensure your NSO's participation in the Volunteers who Inspire campaign, we ask for two concrete actions before Friday, 24 July 2026:
- Designate a focal point person for the campaign. This person will coordinate the campaign within your NSO and serve as the link with the regional team throughout the process.
- Confirm your focal point person's participation in the 29 July meeting via the meeting registration link.
