Dear friends in Scouting,

Every time a National Scout Organization speaks about World Scouting, whether at an event, in a meeting, or in a conversation with partners, young people and volunteers discover that they are part of something bigger. Telling that story clearly takes practice.

That is why we invite you to prepare together in the online workshop Representing World Scouting, taking place on Saturday, 21 November 2026. The workshop supports our strategic priority of becoming an influential organization, especially 9.1. We want every NSO, as a member of World Scouting, to speak about the Movement in language that resonates with people who do not know us yet. We will explore what to say about the Scout Movement and how to say it, so that partners, families, and other organizations better understand the impact of our work.

The workshop is for everyone with an external representation role in their NSO, including members of national boards, people responsible for partnerships, communications or external relations, International Commissioners, and Chief Executives or equivalents. It is also open to members of national teams or contingents who represent their NSO in external spaces. Each NSO may invite up to six people.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to explain what the Scout Movement is and what it means for their NSO to be a member of World Scouting. They will be able to present it to partners and potential partners, such as governments, NGOs, and companies, as well as to families and their own membership, using clear, jargon-free language and stories that connect the local with the global. They will also be able to answer difficult questions with facts, without improvising. Each participant will leave with support materials to present the Movement and a plan for putting them to use, to expand the impact and influence of the Scout Movement.

There will be two sessions, one in English and one in Spanish:
  • English session: 9:00 am (Panama time, UTC-5)
  • Spanish session: 11:00 am (Panama time, UTC-5)
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Format: Online
  • Registration deadline: 18 November 2026, through the registration form

Participants must have NSO endorsement and a certificate of completion for the Safe from Harm course, which must be uploaded through the registration form.
If you have any questions, please write to Paula Carrión, Communications and Marketing Coordinator, at [email protected].

We count on you to make sure every NSO has prepared voices who can speak about World Scouting clearly and with pride. Each time they do, our membership feels part of something bigger and our partners recognize the value of the Movement. Please share this invitation with the people who represent your NSO.

Yours in Scouting,
