Interamerican Leadership Training 2027 (ILT11)

Interamerica Support Centre • 11 September 2026
Dear friends in Scouting,

For more than 10 years, the Interamerican Leadership Training (ILT) has given young leaders from across our Region the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together.

We are pleased to invite all National Scout Organizations (NSOs) of the Interamerican Scout Region to nominate young adults to attend the 11th Interamerican Leadership Training (ILT11), taking place in Tepoztlán, Morelos, Mexico, from 18 to 23 January 2027.

Objectives

ILT is a regional learning experience designed for young leaders to develop and strengthen competencies in leadership, teamwork, communication, decision-making, and facilitation through non-formal education, experiential learning, and exchange in an intercultural environment.

Through this experience, participants are expected to return to their countries prepared to apply and multiply their learning, strengthen youth leadership within their NSOs, and:
  • Share their knowledge and inspire other young leaders.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of Local Leadership Trainings/Initiatives.
  • Participate actively in decision-making, governance, working groups, and other leadership spaces within their NSOs and the Interamerican Region.

Participation Fees and Financial Support

Each NSO may nominate up to six participants, subject to overall course capacity. Of these six people, the NSO may designate one to receive financial support covering their return international travel, which will be managed directly by the World Scout Bureau – Interamerica Support Centre.

The selection and nomination of participants rests with each NSO, which has the authority to determine who will be nominated. The Interamerican Scout Region reserves the right to confirm the participation of nominated individuals based on the information provided in their applications and the overall capacity of the course.

From among its nominees, each NSO may designate one participant to receive financial support for international transportation, in accordance with the conditions established for its category. NSOs need to send all their applications through this form:

All requirements regarding participation, costs, financial support, and NSO commitments are detailed in the ILT11 Fact Sheet.

NSO Commitments

ILT is designed to generate an impact that goes beyond each participant's individual experience. Selected participants are expected to apply and multiply their learning by contributing to Local Leadership Trainings/Initiatives, decision-making processes, governance, or other leadership and operational spaces within their NSOs.

Youth leadership and participation are central to the vision of this triennium, both regionally and globally. Likewise, the World Strategy for Scouting calls us to move towards “a world shaped by youth”, establishing the development of youth leadership as one of its objectives.

We look forward to the participation of young people from your NSO in ILT11 and to continuing, together, to strengthen a Scout Movement that is relevant, responsive, and prepared for new generations.
