Circular No.IAR-C17-2024-EN

Topic: Get Ready to the XI Interamerican Scout Summit (circular 2)

Dear friends in Scouting,

The XI Interamerican Scout Summit is a key strategic space where we draft the course towards the new Regional Plan. We will have as a starting point the new Strategy for Scouting for the next ten years, the World Triennial Plan 2024-2027, and the current needs of the National Scout Organizations (NSOs) of the Interamerican Region to define the strategic objectives that will guide the course of Scouting.

The objectives of the XI Interamerican Scout Summit adjusted and approved by the Interamerican Scout Committee are:

  • To share the progress in the current Regional Plan and discuss the advances and challenges around its fulfillment.
  • To begin the process of drafting the Regional Plan 2025-2028, in line with the new Strategy for Scouting, with emphasis on understanding the current needs of the NSOs in the region.
  • To provide a space for exchange between the leaderships of the NSOs in the region around good practices and the possibilities of international cooperation.

To achieve these objectives, it is necessary that we carry out together and in advance a process of information gathering that we have called Regional Diagnosis and that contains 4 tools that we invite all NSOs to apply on the established dates for each one. These tools are: Youth Consultations, Quality Measurement of 5 strategic priorities, GSAT 3.0 Self-assessment and the Regional Membership Report.

Preliminary agenda

For three days we will meet in the vibrant city of Medellin, Colombia, known as the "City of Eternal Spring" for its pleasant climate, its impressive social transformation and its growing fame as a tourist destination, to shape the future of our Region.

The Summit agenda will include plenary sessions, conferences, participatory workshops and spaces to share experiences, challenges and good practices from our national scout organizations. Each participant will have the opportunity to contribute from their role, drafting a new regional plan that is realistic and ambitious at the same time, reflecting the realities of the National Scout Organizations and contributing to the achievement of our mission and vision, positively impacting young people of the entire Region.
