As part of the International Volunteer Year for Sustainable Development, four National Scout Organizations (NSOs) from the Caribbean shared their youth volunteering experience at the fourth Good Deeds Day Caribbean Regional Conference. The conference took place on the island of Nevis, in Saint Kitts and Nevis, from 13 to 15 October 2026.
The Scout Association of Trinidad and Tobago, The Scout Association of Guyana, Scouting Aruba, and The Scout Association of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines attended the event. Over three days, they joined volunteer organisations and leaders from across the region to share the Scout Movement’s experience in educating young people and serving communities. They contributed to presentations, panel discussions, peer exchanges, and the development of country action plans.

Their aim was to strengthen the Scout Movement’s role in building a lasting culture of volunteering in the Caribbean, while learning from other organisations in the region.
The Scout Association of Trinidad and Tobago took part in the Caribbean Solutions Exchange, a session on turning enthusiasm for doing good into regular volunteer involvement. The Scout Association of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines explained how the Scout Movement encourages volunteering from the age of seven, with younger and older members serving together alongside adult volunteers. The World Scout Bureau presented volunteering as a tool for nation-building and partnership.
These experiences reflect the spirit of the International Volunteer Year, which recognises the contribution volunteers make to their communities. The Scout Movement is celebrating the year by highlighting its members' service through the Volunteers Who Inspire campaign. Find out more about Volunteers Who Inspire.
