The World Scout Bureau (WSB) has received an application from Association des Scouts et Guides du Mali, the National Scout Organization (NSO) of the Republic of Mali, for recognition as a Member Organization by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

In accordance with the requirements of the WOSM Constitution, taking into account the positive review of the NSO’s operations by the WSB and a positive compliance review of its Constitution by the World Scout Committee’s (WSC) Constitutions Committee, the WSC has considered this application and recommends that it be accepted.

Any Member Organization of WOSM wishing to oppose the WSC’s recommendation to accept the Association des Scouts et Guides du Mali for membership should email a letter to this effect signed by the International Commissioner to Winnie Marutle, Director, Legal and Constitutional at [email protected], no later than 23:59 UTC on 8 June 2024. Please note that affirmative votes to endorse the recommendation are not required.

Pursuant to Article VI.2 of the WOSM Constitution, "if within three months the recommendation is unopposed or opposed by less than five per cent of the Member Organizations," Association des Scouts et Guides du Mali, as the NSO of Republic of Mali, will be declared a Member Organization of WOSM as of 9 June 2024.

Should you have any further questions regarding this application, please contact Winnie Marutle.

Yours in Scouting,

Ahmad Alhendawi
Secretary General
