Dear friends in Scouting,
Since 2022, the Youth Dialogues have been the regional space where young people in Scouting reflect, share their views, and contribute to the Scout Movement. This edition responds to the mandate of the 29th Interamerican Scout Conference, held in Curaçao, to strengthen the participation of children, adolescents, and young people in the 2025–2028 Regional Triennial Plan.
We invite all National Scout Organizations (NSOs) of the Interamerican Scout Region to take part in a new edition of the Youth Dialogues 2026.
Objectives
The Youth Dialogues aim to:
- Strengthen young people's contribution to regional consultation and development processes.
- Gather input on educational innovation, inclusion, wellbeing, and community impact.
- Build leadership skills and a culture of youth involvement.
- Generate input for regional decision-making and for initiatives aimed at younger generations.
Participants
Scouts aged 15 to 22 from NSOs across the region, supported by adult facilitators. The dialogues will promote safe, inclusive, and meaningful participation.
2026 theme: Building tomorrow
Under the theme "Building tomorrow", the Youth Dialogues 2026 invite young Scouts across the Interamerican Region to reflect on the future they want to build and the role they want to play in it, both within and beyond the Scout Movement.
The process draws on Education Beyond 2030, an initiative by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) that promotes a global conversation on the future of education and recognises the importance of including the voices, experiences, and aspirations of younger generations.
Building on this, the dialogues will explore what young people need to face future challenges, which learning opportunities matter most to them, and how the Scout Movement can keep evolving to meet their needs and aspirations.
Building tomorrow
What kind of world do we want to build, and how can the Scout Movement help us build it?
This edition invites young Scouts to reflect on the future they want for their communities and for the world, identifying the changes needed to build more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable societies. Through dialogue, participants will share their experiences, aspirations, and ideas on how the Scout Movement can strengthen its educational impact and support younger generations in leading positive change in their communities.
Format
The Youth Dialogues will offer several ways to take part.

Registration
Participation is free of charge.
Regional dialogues are limited to 100 people per session and require individual registration in advance. Information will be managed in line with the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) Global Data Protection Policy. Responses are considered personal opinions, not official positions of NSOs.

Local dialogues
Each NSO will receive a guide with recommendations for organising local dialogues (see annex).
We recommend holding local synchronous dialogues on the dates below, with results reports submitted by 31 October 2026.

The Youth Dialogues will follow the principles of Safe from Harm, ensuring safe, respectful, and inclusive spaces for all participants.
Diverse voices and experiences are key to building a more connected, resilient, inclusive, and influential Interamerican Scout Region. We invite all NSOs to actively promote these spaces and encourage the widest possible youth participation.
