Dear friends in Scouting,
The Interamerican Scout Committee held a new ordinary session on 9 September 2026, brief and focused, to follow up on key regional priorities and continue supporting National Scout Organisations (NSOs) across the Region.
On regional events, the Committee reviewed the regional and world calendar for 2027, a year with a significant concentration of activities. In this context, the budget and fee structure for the Regional Moot were approved; the event will take place in Ecuador in late 2027. The Committee also confirmed that the Interamerican Scout Summit will be held in June of the same year. Further information on both events will be shared in the coming weeks, and the first circular for the Moot will be published shortly with full details.
The Committee also discussed communication with NSOs, with a view to strengthening dialogue and ensuring up-to-date information that enables more effective support. The Committee thanks NSOs for their active participation in the Region's networks and in the recent referendum processes, and encourages them to join the 2026 International Year of Volunteering campaign.
The Interamerican Scout Committee reaffirms its commitment to working with transparency, focus, and strategic vision to provide the best possible support to all National Scout Organisations in the Interamerican Region.
Yours in Scouting,
José Vargas
