Kolkata, India, December 2023: The Bharat Scouts and Guides, India, together with the Asia-Pacific Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), successfully organized the National Dialogue for Peace Workshop from 11th to 14th December 2023 at the State Training Centre, Ganganagar in Kolkata. This four-day workshop brought together key leaders from the Bharat Scouts and Guides with the primary objective of gaining an understanding of the Dialogue for Peace Challenge, one of the challenges under the Messenger of Peace Initiative.

Forty-one representatives from 9 different states in India participated in the activity.
The workshop equipped participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate and spread the Dialogue For Peace Challenge through theoretical concepts and practical application. With these activities, the participants are expected to be better prepared in championing dialogue not only in their personal development but also as leaders promoting positive change.
Some of the topics included in the said workshop were Conflict Management, Peacebuilding, Perceptions, Concept of Dialogue, How a Dialogical Scout be like?, Dialogue for Peace Challenge Program development, Dialogo Games, and the development of action plans. One of the highlights of the activity was a role-play activity in which participants were able to practice their learnings about the process of dialogue.

Mr. Syd Castillo, Director for Educational Methods, and Mrs. Arjay Cameros, Senior Assistant, Educational Methods, both from WOSM Asia-Pacific Region (APSC) co-facilitated the activity with Mr. Sarathraj, an Accredited Dialogue Trainer from India.
