From 14 to 19 September 2026, Executive Directors and Chief Commissioners from 15 National Scout Organizations (NSOs) in the Interamerican Scout Region took part in the Executive Directors' Course for National Scout Organizations in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For the first time, an academic institution, Universidad Latina de Panamá, certified the course.

Organised by the World Scout Bureau, Interamerica Support Centre, the course aimed to help participants develop skills in executive leadership, strategic planning, financial sustainability, risk management, impactful communication, and evidence-based decision-making. Over six days, the work took a practical approach, applied directly to the reality of each organisation.

One of the key ideas of the course was to see leadership as the ability to guide and mobilise others, rather than the need to have all the answers. From this perspective, leading means knowing how to ask the right questions in order to understand, challenge, and innovate. The participatory approach allowed participants to learn from one another, discover what their NSOs have in common, and explore how they can support each other.

Scouts de Argentina hosted the course, opening the doors of its Scout House in Buenos Aires to welcome delegations from across the region. Their hospitality and support throughout the week helped create a friendly atmosphere that encouraged exchange between NSOs.

The course leaves one clear message: strengthening a National Scout Organization is a collective effort. What participants learned during these days can be shared and multiplied within each organisation, helping build stronger NSOs that are better prepared to fulfil the mission of the Scout Movement.
