World Scouting is inviting applications for the position of Regional Director to lead the management and operations of the World Scout Bureau’s Arab Support Centre in Cairo, Egypt. The Regional Director serves simultaneously as the Secretary General of the Arab Scout Organization, the legal entity holding consultative status with the Arab League of States.
This key leadership role oversees the work and staff of the Arab Support Centre and ensures effective support to National Scout Organizations (NSOs) across the Arab Scout Region. The Regional Director plays a central role in implementing the Strategy for Scouting and Regional Scout Plan, supporting the Arab Regional Scout Committee, and strengthening collaboration, partnerships and growth throughout the Arab Region.
In this role, the Regional Director will provide strategic and operational support to NSOs in areas such as good governance, educational programmes, child and youth safeguarding, and organisational development. They will also be responsible for leading and managing the Arab Support Centre’s staff, an operational budget, as well as the resources and work plan to ensure the effective delivery of services and support to Member Organizations.
The Regional Director will support the Arab Regional Scout Committee in implementing the Regional Triennial Plan and engaging with NSOs, while advancing partnerships and resource mobilisation priorities in the Arab Scout Region to enhance the Scout Movement’s impact.
In addition to the above, the Regional Director also oversees the management of the Cairo International Scout Centre, a guesthouse operation with 52 rooms, plus conference facilities and restaurant, located at the same premises as the Support Centre
