World Scout Grants

World Scouting Grants

Empowering Member Organizations for greater impact

World Scouting Grants is a funding mechanism that combines resources from the World Scout Foundation and other partners to support National Scout Organizations (NSOs) in implementing impactful projects. These grants enable NSOs to strengthen their capacity, engage their communities, and address global issues affecting young people — amplifying the impact of Scouting worldwide.

World Scouting Grants operates through multiple funding streams, each with explicit earmarks and requirements. The World Scout Bureau ensures a standardised, transparent, and efficient grant management process while maintaining the flexibility needed to align with donor priorities. This is supported by Fluxx, a centralised online grant management system used to submit, track, and manage applications.

Messengers of Peace

The Messengers of Peace initiative supports NSOs and National Scout Associations (NSAs) in delivering projects that inspire young people as champions of peace, strengthen organisational capacity, and implement impactful community actions. Funded with the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Messengers of Peace projects aim to empower Scouts to take action as active citizens in peace and sustainable development at local, national, and regional levels.

The first open call received 84 applications across all five regions, with 39 projects funded. Year 2 builds on this foundation with a strengthened framework, updated guidance, and expanded support for applicants.

2026 Project Focus

We encourage high-impact initiatives that creatively solve pressing social challenges and respond to localised community needs. We are looking for forward-thinking proposals — whether community-facing peace and development initiatives or organisational capacity projects — that go beyond one-off events and workshops towards sustained initiatives with measurable community impact. Strong proposals will demonstrate:

  • Sustained engagement: activities that build over time rather than a single intervention
  • Community-based: a clear connection to an identified local need, with evidence of community involvement in design or delivery
  • Measurable change: a realistic plan to track and demonstrate outcomes, not just outputs
  • Scouting's added value: a clear articulation of why Scouting is best placed to deliver this work in this context

Who can apply:

NSOs and NSAs that are in good standing with World Scouting. Only one application can be submitted per NSO/NSA. NSAs may apply with the agreement of their Federation.

Funding and budget:

  • Grant size: USD 10,000-USD 30,000 per project.
  • Implementation period: November 2026 – October 2027
  • Funding areas (see above for more details):
  • Youth-led community development projects, such as youth programmes, educational initiatives, and community actions.
  • Strengthening NSO capacity, such as good governance, GSAT, growth, Youth Programme, and volunteering.

How to apply:

Applications must be submitted in English through between 6 August and 15 September 2026. NSOs/NSAs are encouraged to clearly connect their proposals to at least one MoP objective:

  • Inspiring young people as Messengers of Peace - To promote the values of peace, coexistence, and community service.
  • Strengthening capacity - To ensure continuous quality and relevant Scouting.
  • National and local community actions - To enable young people to make a contribution to the SDGs.

 Key dates:

  • Application deadline: 15 September 2026
  • Funding distribution: Starting in October of 2026
  • Implementation period: November 2026 to Oct 2027

Grant disbursement is subject to receipt of funds from the donor. Projects should not commence implementation before November 2026.

Before starting your application, we recommend:

  • Check your eligibility: verify your compliance status on your Fluxx profile
  • Review the evaluation criteria: full scoring guidance is available on Treehouse; criteria are also embedded directly in the application form
  • Register here to attend informative sessions between 20–23 August covering the open call’s focus, donor requirements, indicators, and project planning.

Process:

  1. NSOs/NSAs submit project applications via Fluxx.
  2. The Regional Decision Committee, together with the WSB’s Grant Management Team, will review all submissions for compliance and alignment with MoP objectives. Projects are evaluated against mandatory and preferential criteria and scored on a 100 point scale. A minimum of 50 points is required for consideration. Funding priority is based on available resources to ensure support reaches as many NSOs as possible, prioritising NSAs and NSOs who haven't received funding recently or have no ongoing projects . For more information, please visit this link.
  3. Approved projects will receive confirmation and guidance on grant disbursement, reporting, and monitoring.

Branding and communications:

  • All funded projects must acknowledge the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • The Kingdom’s name and logo must be included in project materials, communication assets, and reports.
  • NSOs should outline their communication strategy within the application, ensuring alignment with donor requirements. This may include articles, social media posts, videos, photos, and visibility materials shared through World Scouting’s communication channels.

Impact Innovators Challenge

World Scouting x Accenture: Youth innovation, sustainability and digital transformation through Scouting

World Scouting and Accenture share a strong commitment to the development of young people and to harnessing the power of sustainability, education, innovation, and technology to improve lives, opportunities, and society at large. With this renewed three-year partnership, we secured funding, alongside technical expertise, to scale Scouting’s flagship initiatives under the Scouts for SDGs mobilisation, advance youth-led change and transform the way World Scouting supports its Member Organisations through innovation in digital tools and flexible volunteering frameworks.

Through the roll-out of the EarthTribe and the Impact Innovators Badge under the LifeLeaders initiatives (or national equivalent) in target countries, Scouting engages young people in structured learning and applied sustainability action through community projects delivered by Scouts using the skills learned, equipping them with competencies to respond to the climate crisis, develop critical-thinking skills, and build solidarity in communities.

We are providing sub-grants to National Scout Organizations (NSOs) to localise the delivery of educational content, creating a flexible model that can reflect nationally developed solutions while prioritising the core Scouts for SDGs initiatives that contribute to sustainable education and action.

  • Eligible applicants: NSOs / National Scout Associations (NSAs).

Funding and budget:

  • Grant amount: Up to USD 20,000 per selected NSO (25 eligible NSOs in 3 years).
