Volunteer Voices: What our volunteers say
Curious what it’s like to be part of the European Purple Team? Here’s what some of our volunteers have to say about their experience supporting Scouting across the Region:
“I’ve had the opportunity to develop my personal and professional skills while contributing to the Scouting environment.” — George Ntavatzikos, Impact of Scouting Team, Greece,
“Through events and projects, we’ve been able to see Scouting across the Region from a whole new perspective.” — Siri Ankarfors, Earth Tribe Team, Sweden
“I had the chance to practice my professional skills and create in a Scouting environment. I felt useful.” – Mette, New Ways of Volunteering Team, Denmark
Diversity and Inclusion
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is an equal opportunity organisation and strongly believes in and practices diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse volunteer work environment, where all qualified candidates receive equal consideration when applying for volunteer opportunities.
Throughout the application form in Phase 1 of the Open Call for Volunteers, we collect specific but optional information to ensure a fair and inclusive recruitment process. A score-based and weighting system, along with a Panel review, will be used to allow for an anonymous selection of the best candidates, ensuring a team that reflects the diversity of our Region in all aspects.
We strongly encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply, including those from underrepresented communities and National Scout Organizations that have joined the Region in the past Triennium (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine).
The Region is open to applications from members with diverse skills and at all experience levels, from all backgrounds, including those from underrepresented communities.
We define underrepresented groups as “communities or individuals who have limited representation and voice in society, including in education, politics, and other decision-making bodies.”
