On 8 September, the Asociación de Scouts del Paraguay brought together 80 members from 17 Scout groups for a Growth Workshop that marked a pivotal moment for the Scout Movement in the country. The workshop, not only equipped participants with practical tools but also inspired them to dream big and plan for sustainable growth tailored to their local realities.
This dynamic event saw participants sharing their experiences and insights, exchanging ideas and strategies to expand their impact within communities. The energy and commitment were palpable as leaders and teams worked collaboratively to analyse the current state of their groups in depth, designing customised action plans that leveraged their strengths and opportunities.

With a clear focus on member retention, attracting new young people, and re-engaging those who had drifted away, the workshop became an incubator of ideas. Each Scout explored their group’s growth potential, using membership data and capacity analysis to create a concrete plan aimed at expanding the Scout Movement in Paraguay and ensuring its long-term sustainability.
"I love what’s being done; it’s great to have people from the Interamerican Office come and offer us a perspective we don’t have. I’m learning good practices from other groups that we will start implementing now, and I hope other groups will also implement our best practices." - Euvaldo Castillo, Julio Correa Scout Group
By the end of the workshop, the enthusiasm was infectious: the Scout groups emerged stronger and equipped with effective tools to transform their presence within communities, driving a growth trajectory that guarantees the Scout Movement continues to make a meaningful impact in the country.
