We are pleased to inform you that in June of this year, we will hold the first Regional Meeting of the Interamerican Youth Network for 2026. This meeting will take place virtually on June 26 to 28th, 2026.
The Interamerican Youth Network meetings aim to create a space for exchange among National Scout Organizations (NSOs) on technical topics related to this youth participation platform. The objective is to share information, documents, tools, strategies and their results, as well as experiences and best practices. Additionally, the meeting will contribute to the renewal of the coordination of the Interamerican Youth Network.
1. Objective
To create a space for dialogue and exchange among National Youth Networks, aimed at promoting the renewal of the Interamerican Youth Network through the review of its structure, ways of working, regional coordination mechanisms, and the election of two new coordinators. This process seeks to strengthen youth leadership and contribute to the implementation of the Regional Plan.
Theme of the meeting:
“Building a shared network vision” – A collective perspective that reflects the realities and contributions of National Youth Networks to strengthen regional work and renew the purpose of the Youth Network in the Interamerican Region.
2. Participants
- Coordinators of the National Youth Network (or equivalent body: National Youth Forum, Rover Forum, National Youth Committee, Youth Participation Committee).
- Members of the National Youth Network.
Maximum number of participants per NSO: 6 people.
3. Date and Methodology
The 2026 Interamerican Youth Network Meeting will take place from June 26 to 28th, 2026. It will begin on Friday, June 26th at 6:00 PM (UTC -5), continue on Saturday, June 27 starting at 9:00 AM, and conclude on Sunday, June 28th at 1:00 PM (UTC -5).
The meeting will be held using the Microsoft Teams platform. Session links will be shared with participants in advance. Therefore, participants must have access to a stable internet connection capable of supporting audio and video interaction, as well as the necessary equipment and materials for active participation (computer, headphones, microphone).
Participation in the 2026 Interamerican Youth Network Meeting is free of charge.
Status of the Coordinators of the Interamerican Youth Network (2023–2026 period)
Elected members
The following individuals were elected as Coordinators of the Interamerican Youth Network during the 2023 Youth Network Meeting:
- Oliver García (Dominican Republic) – continues in his role and will complete his term at the next Network Meeting.
- Larissa Oliveira (Brazil) – stepped down from her role as Coordinator during the 2023–2026 period.
4. Registration Process
To complete their registration, all participants must submit the following documents at the time of registration:
- Safe from Harm Course Certificate – As usual, participants are required to present a certificate for the Safe from Harm course. The online courses have been updated, so we encourage you to complete the course that will now be required for participation: SfH1: Fundamental Learnings of Safe from Harm.
- NSO Certification – A letter from your National Scout Organization (NSO) certifying that you belong to one of the groups invited to this meeting.
