GLB-C05-2023
The safety and well-being of children, young people, and adults in Scouting is our Movement’s highest priority. To support these efforts, we are pleased to announce that this year’s Safe from Harm week will take place on 8 to 14 May 2023.
Through an enhanced communications campaign and learning opportunities, the seven-day promotion will highlight how Scouts can stay safe, and how National Scout Organization (NSO) leadership can implement Safe from Harm using safeguarding measures and resources available, such as WOSM’s Safe from Harm Assessment Tool.
We invite NSOs to register for webinars taking place in various languages to learn more about the Safe from Harm Assessment Tool and how it can be used to enhance child and youth safeguarding at the national level.
- Register for the session in English at 12:00 UTC on 13 May 2023
- Register for the session in French at 16:00 UTC on 13 May 2023
- Register for the session in Arabic at 18:00 UTC on 13 May 2023
- Register for the session in Spanish at 14:00 UTC on 13 May 2023
Safe from Harm has also updated its support offered on Treehouse, WOSM’s new digital space for members, making it easier for NSOs to browse resources, request a service, and get capacity-building support from our team of expert consultants.
We encourage NSO leaders and the wider Scouting community to join us in supporting Safe from Harm week by actively participating in the webinars, sharing World Scouting’s content, and encouraging safe actions in daily activities.
If you need any further support regarding the implementation of Safe from Harm in your NSO, please contact Pauline Grangette, Manager Child Protection and Safeguarding with the World Scout Bureau by email at [email protected].
Yours in Scouting,
Ahmad Alhendawi
