Each year, the Safe from Harm Week brings the global Scout Movement together around a shared commitment: ensuring that every child, young person, and adult experiences a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment through Scouting.
This year, Scout groups around the world were invited to turn learning into action through a global contest. Scout leaders brought safeguarding to life in their local groups by leading Safe from Harm activities with Scouts and sharing what they did through a short report, photos, and videos.
Submissions were assessed based on their participation and reach, the quality of the activities, and how effectively they documented and shared their work. From the submissions received, eight winners were selected for the creative and engaging ways they put Safe from Harm into practice.
Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to all the Scout groups that took part! Your time, energy, and effort are strengthening our global culture of safety.
Les Scouts Tunisiens: Creating a "safety bubble"
The Moknine Tunisian Scouts Troop organised an interactive “Safety Bubble” workshop using games, group discussions, and role-play to help Cubs recognise bullying, understand personal boundaries, and learn how to support one another.

Boy Scouts of the Philippines: Prioritising mental health and well-being
Rover Circles United 08 (Cabanatuan Council) held a workshop focused on mental health and personal development. Scouts explored how stress can affect their emotional and physical well-being, and learned practical ways to balance school, family, and Scouting. The activities also looked at how self-care can help young people become empathetic leaders and active members of their communities.

Lesotho Scouts Association: Promoting safer environments
Scout groups across the Association combined online awareness sessions with youth-led presentations to explore how young people can help create safer environments. Through activities, Scouts learned to identify signs of emotional distress, report harmful behaviour, and support their peers, while strengthening a local culture of safety, respect, and mutual accountability.

Scouts of China: Advocacy in action
Youth leaders from Scouts of China took Safe from Harm beyond their own Scout groups by launching a social media campaign focused on child safeguarding. Using Instagram, Scouts raised awareness of proposals to strengthen protections for children and young people, including safeguards for people whose work or volunteering brings them into contact with children.

Asociación de Scouts de Venezuela: Bringing Safe from Harm into school
Scout Group CIVO brought Safe from Harm into a local school through an awareness session that helped children, young people, and adults recognise different types of harm, understand how to respond, and identify trusted people they can turn to for support. Participants from Rafael Urdaneta Scout Group also explored emotional wellbeing, learning to identify emotions through body mapping, practising breathing techniques, developing stress management strategies, and using self-control exercises to build resilience and emotional awareness.

Asociación de Scouts de Guatemala: Safe from Harm for every age
Scouts in Guatemala adapted its Safe from Harm activities for different age groups. Younger members learned about kindness, inclusion, and seeking help through an interactive Jungle Book story, while older youth took part in role play, case studies, and theatre to explore topics such as preventing harm, respectful dialogue, and bullying. The initiative, organised by Scout Group Americano Huehuetenango, was reinforced through a social media campaign highlighting the Scout Promise and Law as foundations for creating safe environments.

Asociación de Scouts del Perú: A wellbeing adventure
Scouts in Peru ran activities that promoted both emotional wellbeing and respectful relationships. The Cub Pack of Lince 70 Maryknoll held activities inspired by the Jungle Book where children discovered practical techniques to manage stress, recognise emotions, and seek help from trusted adults. Families were also involved through take-home wellbeing activities. Scout and Venture sections also explored preventing harm and understanding bullying through interactive discussions and reflections, helping young people develop empathy, positive leadership, and confidence while also learning how to speak up and support others.

Asociación de Scouts del Ecuador: Safe from Harm puzzle
Scout Group Prometeo No. 20 took a hands-on approach to safeguarding, using collaborative puzzles and practical case studies based around the National Scout Organization’s Safe from Harm Policy. By working through real-life scenarios together, Scouts of different ages explored how Safe from Harm applies in practice while also developing skills in critical thinking, teamwork, empathy, and responsible decision-making. The activities reinforced the message that creating safe environments is a shared responsibility for everyone.
