GLB-C14-2026
Dear friends,
We are pleased to invite the submission of abstracts and papers for the 5th World Scout Education Congress, taking place from 1–4 December 2026 in Singapore. This open call seeks contributions that share research, experiences, innovative practices, lessons learned, and new ideas to strengthen Scouting's educational impact and support the future development of non-formal education.
Selected contributions may be featured as part of the Congress programme through formats such as research dialogues, panel discussions, and workshops, bringing together research, innovative practices, lived experiences, and emerging ideas from across the Scout Movement and beyond. Selected papers may also be included in Congress proceedings, publications, thematic reports, and other World Scouting knowledge and learning resources.
To encourage a diverse range of perspectives from around the world, we welcome submissions from members of National Scout Organizations (NSOs), educators, researchers, academics, practitioners, youth leaders, partner organisations, and other experts in the field.
Submission process
Authors are invited to submit a 250-word abstract in English or French by 12 July 2026. Abstracts should clearly outline the topic, purpose, relevance to Scouting education, methodology or approach, and anticipated contribution to the Congress. Authors may also submit a completed paper alongside their abstract.
Submissions must be made through this link.
All submissions will be reviewed by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper by 12 September 2026, unless a full paper has already been provided.
We encourage NSOs to promote this opportunity within their networks and identify potential contributors.
More information on the thematic areas, submission requirements, and review criteria is available on the Congress website. If you have any questions regarding the submission of abstracts and papers, please contact the organising team by emailing [email protected].
We look forward to receiving contributions from across the Scout Movement and the wider educational community as we work together to shape the future of Scouting education.
Yours in Scouting,
David Berg
Secretary General
