Young people from across Central Africa strengthened their voice in Scouting during the first Central Zone Youth Forum, held in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo, from 26 to 28 August 2026.
The Forum marked an important step towards greater youth leadership and participation in decision-making across the Central Zone. Participants elected three young leaders to represent them:
- Chair: Ngamboula Drichnel Rode, Republic of the Congo
- Vice-Chair: Balanda Mbangu Urbin, Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Secretary: Nkwemou Ngon Carla Lynsay, Cameroon
The Youth Forum was followed by the second Central Zone Conference, held from 28–30 August in Brazzaville. Both events took place under the theme "United to strengthen Scouting in Central Africa."
Together, the gatherings strengthened collaboration and youth participation, while also providing an opportunity to build the capacity of National Scout Organizations (NSOs) to deliver quality Scouting programmes. As communities across Central Africa navigate complex social and governance challenges, Scouting continues to equip young people with the skills, values, and opportunities to lead positive change in their communities
