Circular No. GLB-C14-2021

Dear friends,

The World Scout Bureau (WSB) has received an application from Solomon Islands Scout Association, the National Scout Organization (NSO) of the Solomon Islands, for recognition as a Member Organization by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

In accordance with the requirements of the WOSM Constitution, taking into account the positive review of the NSO’s operations by the WSB and a positive compliance review of its Constitution by the World Scout Committee’s (WSC) Constitutions Committee, the WSC has considered this application and recommends that it be accepted.

Any Member Organization of WOSM wishing to oppose the WSC’s recommendation to accept the Solomon Islands Scout Association for membership should email a letter to this effect signed by the International Commissioner to Charles Ng, Senior Manager, Constitutions and Legal GRC at [email protected], no later than 29 June 2021, 23h59 GMT. Please note that affirmative votes to endorse the recommendation are not required.

Pursuant to Article VI.2 of the WOSM Constitution, "if within three months the recommendation is unopposed or opposed by less than five per cent of the Member Organizations," the Solomon Islands Scout Association, as the NSO of the Solomon Islands, will be declared a Member Organization of WOSM as of 30 June 2021.

Should you have any further questions regarding this application, please contact Charles Ng.

Yours in Scouting,

Ahmad Alhendawi

Secretary General

World Organization of the Scout Movement
