Representatives of Danish Scouting joined World Scouting for a signing ceremony for the 27th World Scout Jamboree during Spejdernes Lejr in Denmark, marking an important milestone in preparations for the 2031 event.
The agreement formalises the partnership between Danish Scouting and World Scouting, providing a framework for the event’s governance, coordination, and overall preparation. Both parties will work closely with Silkeborg Municipality and other partners to deliver a safe, inclusive, and inspiring World Scout Jamboree.
The 27th World Scout Jamboree is expected to welcome tens of thousands of young people, adult leaders, and volunteers from across the global youth Movement. The Danish vision is to create a Jamboree that sets new standards in youth engagement, sustainability, cultural exchange, and innovative activities. The event will enable young people to develop the skills needed to build a better world, advocate for positive social, environmental, and personal change, and embrace volunteering as a powerful way to strengthen communities.
The Jamboree programme will explore key areas such as peaceful living, health, sustainability, responsible technology, and thriving communities. Through educational activities, leadership opportunities, and intercultural exchange, participants will be encouraged to solve problems, shape solutions, and gain the confidence to contribute as active global citizens.
Meaningful youth involvement and sustainability will be central to the planning and delivery of the event. Young people will be involved at the highest levels of Jamboree organisation through shared leadership roles that bring together younger and more experienced volunteers. The planning structure will also aim to reflect the diversity of the Scout Movement by involving people from different regions, cultures, and language groups.
The event site in Silkeborg Municipality is also planned to host Denmark’s national Jamboree, Spejdernes Lejr, in 2030, allowing infrastructure to be tested, improved, and reused for the World Scout Jamboree the following year.

The Danish Scout Council was selected to host the 27th World Scout Jamboree following a vote by Member Organizations at the 43rd World Scout Conference in Cairo, Egypt, in August 2024. This will be the second World Scout Jamboree hosted in Denmark, the first being the 2nd World Scout Jamboree in 1924.

Together with Silkeborg Municipality and partners across Denmark, we have an opportunity to deliver an inclusive and sustainable Jamboree that empowers young people, strengthens international understanding, and demonstrates the positive impact of Scouting and volunteering.”
Held every four years, the World Scout Jamboree is World Scouting’s largest global youth event. It brings together tens of thousands of Scouts aged 14 to 17, supported by adult leaders and volunteers, for outdoor education, cultural exchange, friendship, and adventure. Through Scouting’s non-formal educational approach, participants develop leadership skills, strengthen their understanding of other cultures, and learn how to take action in their communities.
