The Growth Event 3.0

Europe Support Centre
Europe Support Centre
The European Seminar on Growth, with the support received from the European Youth Foundation, will take place near Brno, Czechia, from 25-29 April 2024. We are inviting Leaders from Member Organizations and staff and volunteers responsible for membership growth on a journey that will inspire, equip, and support Leaders in navigating the landscape of membership growth.

One of the goals of our current Regional Scout Plan is to achieve, by 2025, a 10% growth in membership of the European Scout Region. Through engaging sessions, interactive workshops, and insightful discussions, participants will gain valuable insights, access tool kits, and share best practices to foster sustainable growth within their Member Organizations.

Following the event, the participants will gain access to comprehensive resources and unlock new knowledge to develop and manage growth strategies and action plans.

Date and Venue
The event will be hosted by Junák – český skaut at the Kaprálův mlýn Scout Centre. The venue is in Czechia near Brno (150 km from Vienna or Bratislava, and 230 km from Prague).

Arrivals are expected during the day on 25 April 2024, and departures on the evening of 28 April or in the morning of 29 April 2024.

Participant’s Profile
Members of Member Organizations with a strong interest in membership development and actively involved in growth or strategic planning, including board members or other key influencers contributing to decision-making processes.

Language
The event will be held in English. All participants are requested to be able to communicate effectively in this language.

Registration
Applications for participation can be completed using the following online registration form. Please do so before 1 March 2024. We aim to select up to 50 participants from across the European Scout Region. The selected participants will be informed by 15 March 2024. Please do not arrange for travel before hearing back from the organising team.

Costs
Thanks to generous funding from the European Youth Foundation, we will have a reduced participation fee of only EUR 50 for the four days of the event (covering accommodation in shared rooms, all meals and tea/coffee breaks, and additional programme expenses).
More logistical information will be sent to registered participants in due time.

Furthermore, we will fund up to 80% of travel costs, not more than EUR 250. If the travel costs exceed EUR 250, the difference will be at the cost of the participant (e.g., for travel costs amounting to EUR 250 or more, the reimbursement will be EUR 200, which corresponds to 80% of the maximum budget provided of EUR 250).

Reimbursements will be made based on a real-cost basis after the event, provided all supporting documents are handed to the European Scout Region (including flight/train/bus tickets and proof of payment). A credit note or invoice will be sent directly to the sending organisation. No reimbursement will be made directly to participants.

Once the organising team confirms their participation, participants are requested to communicate with their Member Organization and coordinate their travel arrangements.
As per the decision of the European Scout Committee to provision reserves to provide financial support to Member Organizations in their participation in our Regional Events, Additional Financial Support will be made available for those Member Organizations requiring such support. Any Member Organization requiring this support can summarise their request through the event’s online registration form

Travel and visa arrangements
Confirmed participants will be responsible for making their travel arrangements. Please DO NOT book your flights or trains before receiving a confirmation letter from the European Scout Region, in which more information about the logistics will be provided. Please let us know in the event’s online registration form if you need a visa to access Czechia.

Proposing a session
As part of the application process, prospective participants will get an opportunity to submit their programme ideas.

Online pre-event
All selected participants will be invited to join an online pre-event. This will be the perfect opportunity to meet the core team responsible for the event's organisation, contribute ideas, ask questions, and start networking with others joining the Growth Event.

We look forward to connecting and learning from the membership development practices. If you have any questions, you can send them to Goran Gjorgjiev via [email protected].
