On behalf of the World Scout Committee and the Egyptian Scout Federation, it is my pleasure to share with you the participation fees and initial practical information for the 43rd World Scout Conference. We warmly invite you to Cairo, Egypt from 17 to 23 August 2024 for "A New Adventure".
As a new, pivotal seven-day event, and in line with Resolution 2021-06, we intend to go well beyond a traditional meeting of the Conference. We invite National Scout Organization (NSO) leadership to come together on a visionary journey to shape the future of Scouting globally. As the World Organization of the Scout Movement's highest decision-making body, the Conference will deeply engage with Scouting’s core values and foster a leadership community committed to its global transformation over the next decade.
"A New Adventure" further symbolises the Conference's potential to guide transformative discussions and decisions. We will celebrate Scouting's achievements together throughout the implementation of Vision 2023, envision our joint future, and forge paths for its worldwide impact. Your participation is crucial in this landmark event. NSOs will receive a first detailed agenda information in early 2024.
The participation fee structure for the Conference, collaboratively agreed on by the World Scout Committee and the Host, upholds the established practice of providing reduced fees for young participants and expands it for the first time to under 30 years (from previously being under 26 years), emphasising Scouting’s commitment to youth leadership in decision-making.
This fee outlined below and on the website encompasses participation in the in-person event, venue access, ceremonies, daily lunches and coffee breaks across seven days, along with three dinners, and approved transportation between official venues, recommended hotels as well as airport transfer on arrival and departure day. Member Organizations can confirm their fee category on Treehouse.

In an effort to make the decision-making processes of the Conference as accessible as possible, a digital participation option is available to access limited opportunities and experiences of the Conference. As the Conference in Cairo, Egypt is an in-person event, this option is being made available only for individuals or delegations unable to attend in-person. The digital participation fee is set at USD 25 each, enabling participants to access key institutional moments including to virtually engage in the plenary sessions as appropriate for their role, engage in a select number of digital breakouts, and virtual voting for delegations with no individuals present in Cairo.
In addition to the participation fees, initial practical information for the event can also be found on the Conference website at scoutconference.org to help delegations plan ahead for this new adventure:
- Dates: 17-23 August 2024, these dates are the business days for the event and so travel arrangements should be made to be able to join in the running of the programme from the morning of 17 August until evening of 23 August.
- Location: Cairo, Egypt
- Venue: The Conference will be held at the InterContinental Citystars Cairo Hotel
- Accommodation: A selection of hotels in Cairo will be made available by the Host, with indicative prices already featured in a factsheet on the website.
- Travel information: Initial information about traveling to Egypt can be found in the factsheet on the website.
Further practical information will be made available by the Host leading up to the event and at the opening of registration, which is planned for the first quarter of 2024.
