In accordance with the 43rd World Scout Conference Rules of Procedure, we are pleased to share this update with Member Organizations on the appointment of the Conference Officers. At its meeting in March 2024, the World Scout Committee appointed the following people as Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of the Conference (see Rules of Procedure Rule 3.a):
Amal Ridene (Tunisia) – Chairperson
Madhusudan Avala (India) – Vice-Chairperson
Edgar Marumbu (Kenya) – Vice-Chairperson
The following people were also appointed as members of the Credentials Committee of the Conference (see Rules of Procedure Rule 3.a):
Mette Brock (Denmark)
Mari Nakano (Japan)
Ahmad Alhendawi (WOSM Secretary General)
In addition, the World Scout Committee has provisionally appointed the following people as members of the Resolutions Committee of the Conference, including a Chairperson (see Rules of Procedure Rule 3.e). A formal vote to endorse the provisional appointment will be taken by the Conference during its Opening Session on 17 August 2024.

Safidy Arno Ramarolahy (Madagascar)
Filipa Aroso (Portugal)
Grecia Bárcena (Mexico)
David Yen-Cheng Lai (Scouts of China)
In selecting these individuals, the World Scout Committee carefully considered the competencies required for the roles, as well as diversity in age, gender, region and language skills. The World Scout Committee also considered the nominations put forward by Member Organizations for the Resolutions Committee following the open call for applicants. All appointees have received endorsement from their Member Organization.
