GLB-C25-2023
As previously communicated, the World Scout Committee has established an independent Panel of Experts to review the recent planning and delivery of the 25th World Scout Jamboree.
As part of the Panel's Terms of Reference, the Panel is reaching out to National Scout Organizations (NSOs), Contingents (including youth participants, Unit Leaders, Contingent Management Team and International Service Team members), the Host (including its Jamboree Planning and Management Teams), the WOSM Team, and WOSM structures, including Regions, partners, and other relevant stakeholders to actively participate in supporting the Panel to collect various inputs and reflections from stakeholders.
The Panel has now developed a survey to gather valuable feedback from these key audiences, ensuring inclusivity and a diverse range of perspectives. The input from NSO leadership and other stakeholders mentioned above will contribute to a comprehensive review of the Jamboree’s key gaps and challenges, and propose a series of recommendations that can help inform the planning and delivery of future World Scout Events.
To participate in the survey, please follow the links provided below and share them with the relevant stakeholders within your NSO as appropriate. The survey is available in English and French with Korean available shortly. We encourage all stakeholders to share their experiences and feedback which will remain confidential and for review purposes only.
- NSO Leadership
- Heads of Contingent or Contingent Management Team
- International Service Team (IST)
- Unit Leaders
- Youth Participants
In addition to the survey, the Panel will also proceed to review key Jamboree documents and information and initiate a series of interviews and focus groups with selected stakeholders. The Panel will then use this information to produce and deliver a report to the World Scout Committee in the first quarter of 2024.
Following consideration by the World Scout Committee, the insights and recommendations outlined in the report will be incorporated into the operations of current and future Hosts of World Scout Events. A more detailed report on the Panel’s review and findings will be presented at the 43rd World Scout Conference in August 2024, allowing for further discussion with NSO leadership.
We invite you to respond to the survey by the deadline of 16 December 2023. If you have any questions about the survey, please reach out to your respective Regional Support Centre to Winnie Marutle Joseph, Director, Legal and Constitutional, at the World Scout Bureau by email at winnie.marutle@scout.org.
Thank you for your active participation in this significant review process.
Yours in Scouting,
Ahmad Alhendawi
