Call for the election of National Volunteer Representatives to the Coordinating Core of the Interamerican Networks

Dear sisters and dear brothers in Scouting:

The Interamerican Network Policy establishes the following:

  • The Coordinating Core
    In each of the Regional Networks, it will be composed of: a representative of the Regional Committee, designated by the Regional Committee, a representative of the Regional Office, designated by the Regional Director, and a National Volunteer Representative from one of the NSOs active in the corresponding Network, who will be proposed by the Regional Office and ratified by the Regional Committee. The designation of the members of the Coordinating Core of the Networks shall be made at the beginning of each three-year period and shall remain in effect for the entire period.

    Functions of the Coordinating Core in the Networks:
     
  • To generate and manage the spaces for communication and meetings between the National Representatives and the Regional Organizations.
  • To act as the Network's secretariat and, based on this, propose the work agenda, coordinate the work of the Network members, provide follow-up and assistance and report periodically to the Regional Committee.
  • In close coordination with the Regional Office, formulate the Network's program of activities, within the approved regional budget.
  • To ensure that the Network operates in accordance with the principles of this policy and the values of Scouting.

Accordingly, the new National Volunteer Representatives of the Interamerican Youth Programme, Adults in Scouting, Institutional Development and Communications Networks will be appointed for this triennium, which began at the 28th Interamerican Scout Conference, Paraguay 2022 and will conclude at the 29th Interamerican Scout Conference, Curacao 2025.

The Regional Office, to be able to propose to the Interamerican Scout Committee the people who will be part of the Coordinating Core of each Network, have decided to open a call among all those who are part of the aforementioned Networks, as National Representatives, to apply.

To apply, the volunteer National Representative should consider the following:

  • The functions of the Coordinating Core for each of the Interamerican Networks.

  • Experience and knowledge of the work of the respective Network.

  • Knowledge and experience in the use of virtual communication platforms.

  • Available time and commitment to actively participate in the Network during the established period.

  • Having collaborative work skills and a sense of service to others.

  • Mobile device and internet access.

  • Speak satisfactorily at least 1 of the two official languages of the Interamerican Region (English and Spanish). Being able to communicate in both languages will be highly appreciated.

The volunteer National Representative who are interested in applying to be part of the Coordinating Core of the Network to which they belong should send their application to the World Scout Bureau - Interamerican Support Centre (WSB-IASC):

  • Completed Application Form (Annex 1).

Files must be sent in digital format only to the WSB-IARSC at interamerica@scout.org, the deadline is May 22, 2023 at 23h59 Panama time (GMT -5).

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

The representatives of the Regional Office, who are part of the Coordinating Core in each Network, will review the applications and then propose to the Interamerican Scout Committee the volunteer National Representatives for each Coordinating Core.
