Greetings from the APR Support Centre!

We are pleased to inform you that Bangladesh Scouts will be hosting the second Asia-Pacific Regional Youth Leadership Training Course from 24 – 27 June 2024.

This training course aims to build high performing teams at all levels in Scouting, as well as develop young people to be more effective leaders in their communities. Thus, this training course enables young people to gain discerning knowledge; acquire technical and leadership skills; and develop appropriate attitude, through a collaborative, and activity-based environment. 

Moreover, this training course is organized and led by the Asia-Pacific Regional Youth Representatives (RYRs) – by young people, for young people.

The basic information of this training course are as follows:

Date:

24 – 27 June 2024. Participants are requested to arrive in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) on 23 June and may depart on 28 June 2024.

Venue:

National Scout Training Center in Mouchak, Gazipur, Bangladesh. The camp is about 30 kilometres away from DAC International Airport and may take more than one hour to reach. It is advisable if participants can arrive in the morning till afternoon to avoid late night or travelling during dawn.

Registration Fee:

USD200.00 per person.

This will include inland transportation from the airport to the venue and return, accommodation in sharing basis (check-in on 23 June and check-out on 28 June), food (from dinner of 23 June until breakfast of 28 June), and course materials.

Training Course Objectives:

At the end of the training course, the participants will be able to: 

  • demonstrate suitable and applicable leadership skills. 
  • choose their own leadership style suitable to cope different scenario. 
  • have deeper understanding on the relations between Scouting and Leadership. 
  • recognise the essential elements of being a leader in Scouting and their communities. 
  • develop and expand their Scouting network within the Asia-Pacific Region.

Working Language:

The working language of the training will be English.  NSOs are requested to recommend participants who can understand and take an active part in discussions in English.

Eligibility:

Each NSO can nominate up to a maximum of three participants, aged 18 to 26 years old at the time of the event, preferably:

  • Member of the National Rover Council (or any equivalent body)

  • RYR National Coordinator
  • Potential participants of future APR events and Programs
  • Taking active role in the APR or at the world level
